Eugene J. Cavanagh, 91, of Lake Como, NJ, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on January 1st, 2026. Eugene was born in Neptune, NJ in 1934 and was raised at the Jersey Shore. Eugene was a Belmar Lifeguard on the 16th Avenue beach for many years, where he met his loving wife, Jackie. Eugene served in the US Army and also worked as a Lineman for JCP&L. In 1959, he joined the Goodwill Hose Company of Belmar, NJ, and was made Department Chief in 1974. He was also a devoted Giants fan. Eugene is predeceased by his wife Jackie, Daughter Erin, Daughter and Son-in-Law Scott and Eileen MacConchie, and his "Favorite Child", his dog, Moose.

Eugene is survived by his daughters, Kathy Marr (Donald), Peggy Needham (Terry), Patti Blaney (Tim), Shannon Blackman (Scott), and his son, Chip Cavanagh (Patty). Eugene also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A special acknowledgement of gratitude would like to be made on behalf of the entire family to John Wagura, Eugene's devoted caregiver.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ 08736, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Eugene's name to Avon First Aid Rescue Squad, 520 Main St, Avon-By-The-Sea, NJ 07717.
