Found eternal peace Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the age of 87. Eugene is preceded in eternal life by his beloved wife, Sandra Erdman (nee Searles), of nearly 65 years. Loving father of Alan, Vicki (Dennis), Sue (Robert), Mary (Keith), and Gene (Anna). Proud grandfather of Jackson, Alanna, Alison, Molly, Emily, Sunny, Taylor, Alex, Sophia and Victoria. Cherished great-grandfather of Zoe, Brooke, Charlie, Eli, Shepard, Flora and Heidi, and dearest brother of Norm and Ken Erdman and the late Bette Kane. Gene is also loved and will be missed by other relatives and friends.
After graduating Boys' Tech High School, Gene embarked on a career at Ken Cook Company where he worked until his retirement. After retirement, he used his wonderful handyman and woodworking skills to perform various projects in the community and also worked part time at Aquinas Academy in Brookfield where he loved being around the children.
He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa for over 55 years where he touched many lives, made lifelong friendships and spent time volunteering, ushering and giving back to the church community. In addition to the church, Gene spent his free time as a Boy Scout leader, coaching in Tosa Little League and travelling with Sandy. He spent his time in retirement playing golf, reading, travelling, listening to music and playing countless games of cribbage with Sandy and friends.
Gene and Sandy spent 10 years of their retirement in Arizona where they continued their travels, made many friends and created enduring memories with their family. Many will remember Gene as a kind and patient man who loved spending time with family and friends. We are grateful that he has found eternal peace and is reunited with mom.
