Eugene William Feger of Jennings passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2024, as a result of a UTV accident in Crandon. He was 64 years young.
He was born December 18, 1959, in Antigo to the late Frederick and Margaret (Ehlers) Feger. Eugene was raised in Jennings on the family farm and was a 1979 graduate of Elcho High School.
Eugene was united in marriage to Peggy Gryczkowski on August 15, 1981.
He worked for over 30 years for Sokaogon Chippewa Community as a Tribal Security officer. From his time there many became family.
He was very passionate about hunting, especially deer and duck hunting with his sons, Fred, Carl, & brother Mike. He would take the boys fishing when they were younger as well, even though he was allergic to fish, often taking an ice cream pail filled with water and soap to wash his hands after taking off the boys' lucky catch just prior to breaking out in a rash or swelling up. This dedication showed his sons his true love for them. Eugene also enjoyed making firewood, riding his UTV with his family, Sunday fundays, giving the grandkids a ride on the tractor, and attending Brewers games with his wife. He accepted all his children's friends as an extension of his own family, treating them as if they were one of his own. Many bonus grandkids too. He also shared a special bond with his yellow lab, "Bull", who would ride with him in the dump truck while plowing snow.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Peggy, sons, Fred (Angie) Feger, Carl (Kristi) Feger, daughter, Rose (Joe) Chaney, grandchildren, Reed Feger, Mason Feger, Madalyn Feger, Chase Marvin, Harli Chaney, Macee Chaney, sisters, Lisa (Timothy) Feger-Ritchie, Kathy "Mary" Baudhuin(Joe), brother, Mike Feger as well as many extended family members and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Margaret Feger.
Honoring Eugene's wishes, no formal services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the EMS crew, Sheriff's Department & all of the friends who were there to help.
Weber-Hill & Packard Funeral Home of Crandon is assisting the family with arrangements.
