Eugene Fink Obituary

Gene pursued his passion for animal care through rigorous academic study. He received his B.S. in Biology from Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture in 1974, his M.S. in Zoology (Physiology) from University of Idaho in 1976, and his VMD from University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. He dedicated his career to the Woodbridge Veterinary Group, where his expertise and compassion touched the lives of countless pets and their owners. He was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). Gene had a passion for anything involving sports, including playing basketball and collecting baseball cards, a hobby he proudly shared with his son Andrew. Gene also loved outdoor activities such as gardening and barbecuing on his charcoal grill.
Gene is lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Helen, his son Andrew, and future daughter-in-law, Stephanie. He is survived by his sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Boyle and Marybeth (Steve) Rhodeside, his brother, Mark Fink, as well as his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Gene's presence as a family man was characterized by his generosity, wisdom, and the love he expressed through quiet acts of kindness.
Eugene is predeceased by his father, Eugene Fink Sr., his mother, Mary Brylka, and his stepmother, Jennie Fink.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Gene's memory will continue to inspire those who knew him as they walk their paths through life, forever grateful for his legacy of care and community. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Woodbridge Animal Group (WAG) animal shelter, P.O. Box 133, Sewaren, NJ 07077.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Eugene's honor on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Waitt Funeral Home, 501 Hwy 79, Morganville, NJ 07751 from 3:00pm - 7:00pm.
Eugene will be laid to his final place of rest during a private graveside gathering.
