Eugene "Rowdy" L. Gaspardo, 88, of Mayville, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025, surrounded by family.
He was born on March 23, 1937, in Alvin, WI, the son of the late Winfield and Adeline (Zierler) Gaspardo. Eugene graduated from Iron River High School in 1956 (despite sleeping through half his classes). He was a veteran of the U.S Marine Corps.
Eugene married Patricia Draves on September 22, 1962, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI. The couple celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in 2024.
He retired from A.O. Smith in 1995. Eugene enjoyed hunting, playing cards, sleeping, and splitting wood at the cabin.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Corrine (Scott) Hanrahan of West Bend, WI; sons, Richard (Christine) Gaspardo of Kewaskum, WI and James Gaspardo of Eden, WI; brother, Gerald (Donna) Gaspardo of Rome, GA; grandchildren, Eric and Rachel, Megan and Tony, Heather and Jessica, and; great-grandchildren, Addilyn and Sterling, Ava and Aiden; and nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Rebecca; grandson, Joshua; brother, Orville Gaspardo; and sisters, Marlene Kuehn and Sharon Henson.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Jamie Gaspardo to officiate.
Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Alvin, WI.
The family would like to thank the caregivers from Advocate Aurora Health at Home who helped during this journey, providing exceptional care and compassion over the last few months.
