EUGENE IANNUCCI, 71, of Bainbridge passed away peacefully the evening of December 29, 2025 at Arden Courts Memory Care. He was surrounded by his daughter and son-in-law and covered in prayer as he entered eternal rest. After more than five years of living with Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD), he is finally free of all earthly suffering.
Gene was born June 19, 1954 in
Warren, Ohio. He graduated in 1972 from John F. Kennedy High School and went on to study accounting at John Carroll University in Cleveland, earning his degree in 1976.
While at John Carroll, Gene was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, serving as the chapter's president from 1975-76. He was proud of the life-long friendships he built and enjoyed time spent at many college reunions.
Gene began his long career as a CPA at Iannucci & Associates in Warren, along with his father and brother. In 1990, Gene joined Owen & Associates CPAs in Chagrin Falls where he proudly supported many local businesses and personal families in the community.
Gene married Helen C. (Hazlett) Iannucci in 1979. They made their home in Warren, moving to Bainbridge in 1997, where they raised their two daughters, Maria Iannucci of Cleveland and Angela (Nathan) Savage of Bainbridge. He was active in the community holding the position of HOA board president for several years and part of a social group, the Big Kahunas, known for planning elaborate summer parties among neighbors.
Gene and Helen spent most weekends on Lake Erie, sharing a love of sailing with their daughters aboard their Tartan 33 sailboat, Phoenicia, traveling between marinas in Geneva and Sandusky. Gene and Helen were proud active members of Lake Erie Tartan Sailors. After earning his captain's license, Gene shared his love of the open water with others through charters and volunteering with the Cleveland Sight Center by providing people with visual impairments an opportunity to sail.
A man of deep faith, Gene was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Bainbridge for almost 30 years. Along with his wife, Gene volunteered with the church for numerous parish activities including many clean-up days and Lenten fish fries.
Gene is survived by his daughters; his grandson, Dominic; and his six siblings, Eileen (Tom) Landry of
Highland, MI, Anthony Jr. of Warren, Kathleen (Frank) Krasicki of
Ashford, CT, Marleen of Geneva-on-the-Lake, Charleen (John) Katra of
North Brentwood, MD, and John (Gloria) of Columbus.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, and his parents, Anthony and Rose Iannucci.
Calling hours will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 18205 Chillicothe Rd., Chagrin Falls, Ohio preceding the celebration of Catholic Mass in honor of Gene's life at 11:00 a.m.. Mass will be followed by a luncheon in the Community Room. A private burial will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Warren at a later date.
