A longtime Mohawk resident, Mr. Eugene “Joe” Miller, age 73, of Robellard Road, passed away on Friday evening, January 19, 2024, with his family by his side.
He was born Feb. 26, 1950 in Herkimer, son of the late Donald and Ruth (Curtis) Miller and educated in Mohawk Schools, graduating with the Mohawk High School, “Class of 1968”. Joe was united in marriage with Marilyn J. Robellard on June 10, 1972 in Mohawk, a blessed union of 51 years. He retired from Union Tools after 34 years of dedicated service and most recently employed with Remington Arms, Ilion for eleven years. Joe enjoyed riding his motorcycle and the precious times sitting with his cat, Tucker. He and his wife enjoyed their many boat rides.
Survivors include his beloved family; his wife Marilyn of Mohawk; his children, Peter Miller of Mohawk, Michael Miller and wife April of Kentucky, Meghann Wheat of New Hartford; his siblings, Donald Miller and wife Nancy Todd of Oregon and Gary Miller of Poughkeepsie; grandchildren, Ethan Miller and wife Regayn of Ohio, Grace Miller of Alabama, Hunter Miller of Mohawk and Nicholas Grower of New Hartford; great grandchildren, Luke Miller (Joe’s birthday twin) and Bradley Miller. He was predeceased by his grandson, Paul Miller.
The family would like to offer their gratitude to Hospice Care, Inc., for their kindness and compassion and also to Oneida Healthcare for their professionalism. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider and send memorial offerings to the Herkimer County Humane Society or to Hospice Care, Inc.
Visitation at the locally/family owned Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131 will take place on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 1-3 pm. A funeral service will commence at 3 pm also on Saturday from the funeral home with Pastor Adam Coombs, of the Christian Assembly of Schuyler, officiating. Interment will be private.
