Eugene Daniel Juba (Gene) passed away peacefully the morning of April 19th at the age of 90 surrounded by his surviving children Gene Jr., David, Lynne and Laura.

Gene was born in Dunmore, Pennsylvania in 1933 during the Great Depression. His childhood instilled in him a strong work ethic and thriftiness that he carried through life. Following his graduation from Dunmore High School and Lehigh University, Gene served as an officer in the United States Navy. Subsequent to his Navy service he worked as an industrial engineer, most notably for Harshaw Chemical in Cleveland and The Shepherd Chemical Company of Hamilton, Ohio. Two of his proudest accomplishments were establishing the first Delta Chi fraternity at Lehigh and being a founding member of St. Mary Magdalene in Fairview Park, Ohio. He was an active member at the church for over 55 years.

Most important to him was his family. He married Sue Marie Lent from Fairview Park in 1958. The two raised five children. After Sue's death due to cancer, Gene remarried Mary Jo Southern who passed away several years ago.

Eugene was preceded in death by his brother George N. Juba and wife, Irene Juba; a brother, Joseph Juba; and a sister, Dorothy Juba; and sister Elizabeth "Betty" Bodnar.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore, with Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy at 10 A.M. at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, 511 E. Drinker St., Dunmore. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
