Eugene Oran "Gene" Mahan

Eugene "Gene" Oran Mahan, 90 of Tucker Knob passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at his home. He was born on May 6, 1934 at Stella, Missouri to Marvin Oran Mahan and Pansy Irene (Manning) Mahan. Gene worked for 39 years in the Natural Gas Industry retiring from OG&E in 1994. He was married to Wilma Jo Baxter August 8, 1952 and made their home together. He loved raising cattle as long his health would allow. He enjoyed fishing, attending church and visiting friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 72 plus years, Wilma Jo Mahan of the home; one daughter, Connie Powell of Tucker Knob; three grandchildren, Danny Powell, Jeffrey Mahan, Dustin Powell and wife Melanie; three great grandchildren, Oren Powell, Paislee Powell, Lillee Powell; sisters in law, Dena Basinger and Yvonne Mize; brothers in law, Hanford Baxter and wife Sharon, Robert Baxter, Ronald Baxter and wife Carlis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Pansy Mahan; two brothers, Tommy and Ronnie Mahan; one sister, Deloris Mahan; his son, Jesse Mahan; son in law, Clark Powell; mother in law, Vina Gray; brother in law, Charles Baxter; sisters in law, Mavis Neal, Leola Fuller, Pansy Lockhart.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 7, 2025 at the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Quinton with Bishop Randall Drake and Pastor Jack Sloan officiating. Pallbearers will be Danny Powell, Oren Powell, Dustin Powell, Hanford Baxter, Christian Shelton and David Shelton. Burial will follow at Quinton Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
