Eugene Peden Obituary
Born August 12, 1940 in Spokane, WA to Henry Sr. and Georgia Peden, Gene grew up on the family farm in Glenrose and was active in the Moran Prairie Grange. He graduated from Central Valley High School in 1958 and studied TV repair and electronics in Phoenix, AZ.
Gene married Kay Evelyn Gilbert and worked for Sony Electronics before becoming an instructor in the electronics department at Spokane Community College, where he was twice named in Who's Who Among College Professors.
After Kay's passing, Gene found new joy with Judy Hill, whom he married on October 31, 1992. Following her loss, he was blessed again to share his life with Deanna Peterson.
Gene loved camping on the West Coast, Monday night bowling with the Hillyard Church of God men's team, fishing from his pontoon boat, and especially singing bass in the church choir.
He went home to be with Jesus on September 16, 2025.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church (4449 N Nevada St, Spokane, WA 99207) on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CEO: Mission, c/o the church.

My family and the Peden family go way back to my very early childhood! We all attended Hillyard Church of God and were family! Gene and Kay had 2 very adorable little boys; Cary and Shawn! I babysat those stinkers often! When I think back on my growing up years, the Pedens were always a prominent part of my life! I went to high school with Kay´s brother, Don and we dated a bit! Gene and Henry´s mom, Georgia and my grandpa, Elmer Jeremiah, married each other after both had lost their spouses. So yes, the Pedens were always part of my life! Gene, you are in Heaven with your Savior now! Whole and celebrating with all who went before you! Tell my momma and daddy a loving hello Gene, and that one day I will join the glorious celebration with you all! Love Drusilla

Gene will be greatly missed, as an active member, bass singer, devoted elder, clever handyman, and mostly as a dear friend and mentor/brother in Christ.
We have been deeply blessed by Gene's presence in our church family. And, with tears of grief, we celebrate his having gone Home to Glory.
