Eugene M. "Udge" Shuma

Eugene “Udge” M. Shuma, 93, Altoona, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Hilltop Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Altoona. Born January 6, 1932, Altoona, son of the late George R. and Susan A. (Bills) Shuma. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Juanita M. (Tyler) Shuma; sister, Patricia Detwiller; and brothers, Richard and Donald Shuma. Survived by his nephews, Michael, Randall and Daniel Shuma; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Shuma. Eugene worked as a mason in the construction industry. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Germany and earning the rank of PFC. Eugene was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Juniata VFW Post 8685. He enjoyed bowling. At Eugene’s request, there will be no viewing. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 16, 2025, at 10a.m., Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 900 N. Fourth St., Altoona, PA 16601, Fr.
