Eugene T. Trifilo

Eugene T. Trifilo, a lifelong local area resident, passed away peacefully with his son by his side on Monday, December 29, 2025, in Middletown, NY. He was 84.

Son of the late Frank J. and Penelope (Cristo) Trifilo, he was born in Newburgh, NY on July 26, 1941. Gene graduated from Beacon High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving our nation until he was honorably discharged from service in 1961.

For many years, he co-owned and co-operated Gene & Sandy's, Trifilo's Office Supplies and Beacon Taxi with his wife Sandra.

Gene was a communicant of St. John - St. Joachim Parish in Beacon and life member of the Beacon Elks Lodge. He cherished his prized Beechcraft Musketeer and piloted countless flights from Hudson Valley Regional Airport with family & friends. Throughout his life, he raised several German Shepherds: Pepper, Lucky, Toby, and Heidi. He was also an avid New York Yankees fan, especially during the postseason, and always enjoyed sharing magic and card tricks with everyone. Eugene loved stand-up comedy and enjoyed napping during his son Gene's set only to wake up and enjoy the many outstanding headliners Gene Jr worked with over the years.

On November 22, 1959, he married Sandra A. Murphy at St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, NY. Gene was predeceased by Sandra in 2017.

He is survived by his son, Eugene J. Trifilo, of Glenham, NY; his grandchildren: Sonya, Chelsea, Sean, Gabe, Peter, Jay, Melissa, Marc, and Nikita; his six great-grandchildren; his daughters-in-law: LeAnn Trifilo, Eris Belew, Patti Dragon Trifilo and Jessica Lorant; his siblings-in-law: Donna & David Bamond, Patricia & Richard Roza, Doreen Murphy, and Bernadette Murphy; as well as many nieces, nephews, and countless other loving family members.

In addition to his wife and parents, Gene was also predeceased by his son, Frank Trifilo; his son, Mark Trifilo; his daughter, Staci Trifilo Elan; his brother, Samuel Trifilo; and his brother-in-law, Edward Murphy.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00pm - 8:00pm on Friday, January 9 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am on Saturday, January 10 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow Street, Beacon, NY.
