Mr. Eugene "Bugar" Watts, age 81, of Franklin passed away July 22, 2025.

His funeral will be held Friday July 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with Mr. Doug Stephens and Mr. Doug Cassey as speakers. Interment will follow in Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery (Roanoke, AL).

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Thursday evening from 4:00 – 6:00 PM.

Mr. Watts was born November 10, 1943 in Heard County to the late Comer Watts and Florence Mitchell Watts. He was a Baptist by faith and served his country honorably in the US Army.

He was a dedicated employee of the Ford Motor Company, where he worked as a machine operator for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He also worked locally helping others with mechanical problems, and was the go-to guy for small engine and lawnmower repair. He was known as a jack of all trades.

He was always active and loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He also liked to get in the car and take short road trips around the local area, an activity he did until his health failed him. He was a pool shark and had his own pool table at his home. He won several tournaments throughout the years and played countless games at the pool hall in Franklin.

He was known as a family man and saved his most precious times for them. He loved taking trips to the beach on vacation with everyone. He was especially proud of his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and helped care for Missy for many years. He also had a soft spot for his favorite dog, Charlie.

Survivors include: two daughters, Tina Michelle Williamson (Andy) of Hogansville and Susan Denise Whitten of Franklin; four grandchildren: Jeffrey Blake Williamson (Brittany Morris), Patrick Andrew Williamson (Nicky), Tabitha Charmane Dodds (Ryan), and Justin Ryan Whitten (Brittany); eight great-grandchildren: Carmen Hill, Alyssa Dodds, Ari Williamson, Adrian Williamson, Liam Whitten, Ezra Williamson, Raelyn Whitten, and Keyari James; two sisters, Charlotte Casey (Doug) of Seale, AL and Wanda Cain of McDonough; one brother, Roy Watts (Peggy) of Franklin; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Anderson Watts; a daughter, Melissa "Missy" Watts; a granddaughter, Kirsten Hannah Williamson; and a brother, Charlie Bill Watts.
