Mr. Jackie Lamar Cannon, age 79, of Franklin passed away July 19, 2025.

His memorial service will be held Saturday July 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Watson officiating.

Mr. Cannon was born October 19, 1945 in Heard County to the late Lewis Cannon and Katherine Irene Williamson Dean. He was a veteran of the US Army. During his term of duty he was stationed in Korea on the DMZ, and enjoyed his time in service to his country.

He was self-employed as a mechanic and loved working on and tinkering with cars and vehicles of all types. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and was a member of several hunting clubs throughout the years, including the Liberty Hill Club. He also liked to gather at local spots to play cards with his friends.

Survivors include: two daughters, Katherine Rogers (Chip) and Wendy Edelkind (Zohar) both of Rome, GA; four grandchildren: Cannon Rogers, Mallory Rogers, Joseph Edelkind, and Lily Edelkind; his first wife and the mother of his children, Wanda Cannon of LaGrange; special friend and caregiver, Sharon Hill of LaGrange; one sister, Norma Jean Jennings of Bremen; one brother, Toney Cannon (Lisa) of Franklin; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a special cousin, Ricky Potts.
