Eugenia Gross Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck-Givnish Funeral Home from Sep. 26 to Oct. 1, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Eugenia Jennie Gross was born on July 17, 1950, to Uvenali Fabulian and Arussiak "Lucy" Aivazian Fabulian, in Yazd, Iran. She and her family immigrated through Ellis Island in 1957. Jennie grew up in Paterson, New Jersey, and graduated from East Side High School.

Early in life, she had two daughters, Erina Howell and Tania Roop, with her common-law husband, Ari Eres. She later married Frederick William Gross, Jr., and became a loving second mother to Christine M. Dunn, Donna A. Antoniewicz, Fred W. Gross, and Heather R. Bombicca. Together, Jennie and Fred were blessed with five children: Savanna L. Jackson-Larrier, William F. Von Grossen III, Monnique L. Gross, Colette M. Mason, and Jerrica M. Alford.

Jennie was a devoted mother and loving wife who prioritized her family, friends, and faith above all else. She was an attentive and supportive grandmother to her 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and loved spending as much time with them as she could despite her physical limitations.

She was a lover of music and always enjoyed sharing a meal with her family and friends. She took pride in her ability to sew, quilt, and knit, creating everything from clothing to blankets and even the occasional wedding topper. She was hard-working and shared her talents generously, teaching her skills to anyone willing to learn. You could often find her tending to her gardens, where her love of horticulture and her green thumb shone brightly.

Throughout her life, she remained very close to her lifelong best friend, Lubba Ragets. She also treasured her dear friend Judy Scourfield, who brought much joy to her life. Later in life, she cherished the friendships she found with Soosan, Shodah, Maryiam, and their families, who helped her feel at home by reconnecting her to her culture and native language.

Jennie was beloved by many and a mother to all. She will live on forever in our hearts."
