Eunice Nelson Obituary
Eunice was a physical education teacher in the Eagle Grove school district 1953-1985, teaching at all levels during her career. She was an enthusiastic traveler, beginning when working at a summer camp in New Hampshire while in college. Eunice enjoyed motorcoach trips and cruises, and one of her favorite trips was an Alaskan cruise. She also traveled frequently to visit family. Eunice was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Eagle Grove and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. In addition, Eunice played bridge and enjoyed word puzzles well into her 90's. In 2022, Eunice left Eagle Grove and moved to Saint Louis, Missouri to be closer to her daughters.
Eunice died on November 4, 2024, at Friendship Village Skilled Nursing in Chesterfield, Missouri at the age of 94 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Nelson, her parents, and her eight siblings, Avery, Annie, Edna, Norman, Kenneth (Perk), Alice, Laura, and Jean.
Eunice is survived by two daughters, Vicki, Mrs. Joe Caligur of Florissant, Missouri, and Denise Nelson of Saint Peters, Missouri, granddaughters Elizabeth Caligur of Kansas City, Missouri, and Lisa Caligur of Olathe, Kansas, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and their families.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00 until service time. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Eagle Grove Meals on Wheels program

I remember Aunt Eunice and Uncle Johnny comming over to our house and sitting at the kitchen table. Eunice always had a twinkle in her eye and a beautiful smile. A woman who had a job back then was unusual; she was my hero.
