Eunice Nelson Obituary

Eunice Nelson (Styczynski), age 54, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, at 9:12 p.m., surrounded by her devoted husband and loving children.
Born on June 16, 1971, to Dixie and Robert Styczynski in Detroit, Michigan, Eunice dedicated her life to her family and service to the Lord.
In 2008, she married her "happily-ever-after," Tyler Nelson as she continued to grow her family, her devotion to her faith, and her love of travel. Eunice cherished building memories with her family, especially traveling to find the perfect beach, best food, coolest theme park, most beautiful scenery/art, or hottest fishing hole.
A proud Christian, Eunice loved the Lord deeply and found joy in sharing His word and message of salvation. Eunice didn't see people for their rank, position, status or lot in life but simply for who they were on the inside. She lived her life with unwavering dedication to her children, steadfast loyalty to her husband, and love for her Savior.
Eunice always put others first. She volunteered to organize and lead dozens of large-scale holiday parties and events for hundreds of active duty military families. She worked tirelessly to ensure every detail was covered without ever seeking praise or acknowledgment. She refused to be submitted for Air Force Spouse of the Year, an award she would have easily won multiple times. Always quick to crack a joke and make others feel at ease, Eunice was the bright light in the room at every gathering.
In her spare time at home she enjoyed arts and crafts, gift-giving, decorating and teaching her children the importance of faith and family with her love and infectious passion for life.
Eunice was preceded in death by her beloved son, Tyler Jr.; her parents, Robert and Dixie Styczynski; and her brother-in-law, Paul DeMars.
She is survived by her husband, Tyler Nelson; her children: Brandon Barr, Blake Barr, Autumn Barr, and Tyler Nelson; and her siblings: Geri DeMars, Debby Score (Sal), and Robert Styczynski (Jodi). Eunice also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, and one great-great-nephew, all of whom she cherished deeply.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Watkins Funeral Home, 315 N. Michigan Ave., Howell, MI 48843. A time of sharing will begin at 7:00p.m. for those who would like to share memories of Eunice with the family. A Rosary service will follow the time of sharing at 7:30p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at St. Joseph Church, 440 E Washington St., Howell, MI 48843. Family and friends are welcome to gather for visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church.
Graveside services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Howell, MI, with a luncheon to follow at Marion Township Hall.
Eunice's legacy of faith, love, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
