Kenneth Nathaniel Nelson, age 74, of Pine Bluff, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025.
Born at North Little Rock on March 10, 1951, he was a son of the late Harold Pettit Nelson and Mary Ellen Groome Nelson. He grew up mostly in North Little Rock and Pine Bluff.
Ken served in the United States Navy from 1971 to 1974 with two years of active service. He owned and operated Delta Woodworks for a number of years. After his retirement, he enjoyed making scale models of toys, bridges, and old houses.
Ken accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the age of 64 and joined Salem Missionary Baptist Church in 2015.
He was also predeceased by a brother, Hal Nelson, and three sisters, Mary Lynn Webb, Nancy Pick, and Betsy Nelson.
Survivors include his children, Mark Nelson (Susan) of McKinney, Texas, Clay Nelson (Racheal) of Little Rock, and Jamie Nelson of Benton; two sisters, Susie Grommet of Jonesboro and Jane Johnson (Mark) of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, Brody Green, Madeline Nelson, Kinsley Nelson, Liam Nelson, and Layton Nelson; along with many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Visitation will begin Saturday, October 18, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Brother Howard Loetscher officiating. Private interment will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.

Ken and I met at a restaurant near his shop and drank coffee plenty of mornings he made window frames for a deer stand and I had bought a few pieces of his pieces showing his skills, made it look easy. I took wood working classes through junior and high school and appreciated his advice. Sure miss good times. Prayers for your family's loss.
