Eunice Irene Overman

[Pottsboro, TX] - Eunice Irene Overman, a beloved mother, grandmother, and long-time resident of Pottsboro, TX passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 5, 1937, in Wichita, KS, Eunice Irene Kimball was the daughter of the late Millard and Jessie Kimball. Eunice was married to John McEachern in (1956) and raised five children in Kansas.

Eunice was very hard working. She began her career as a secretary in engineering at Cessna Prospect in Wichita, KS. She then worked as the office manager at Garvey Drilling and the Petroleum Club and as a personnel manager at Fuller Brush Company in Great Bend, KS, before juggling the dual roles of bookkeeper for the family-run Chase Tank Service in Chase, KS and office manager for Dr. Stanley Bettin in Lyons, KS. When Eunice moved to Texas to enjoy Lake Texoma with her first husband John, she worked as the office manager for close friend Dr. Julie Folger in Sherman, TX, until retiring at the age of 83. Eunice also volunteered at the Haggerman National Wildlife Refuge, also in Sherman, TX, for many years.

Eunice's favorite thing to do was to sit on her front porch, drinking her coffee, surrounded by her loyal dogs Mick and Guy. She enjoyed traveling with her children and spent many vacations at the beach and in the mountains, all over the world. She enjoyed camping, going on cruises, attending horse races, and snow skiing. She was a fearless adventurer, well into her 80's. She went parasailing and zip lining in Mexico, hang-gliding over Lake Tahoe, kayaking in the Bahamas, hiking in Colorado, and exploring Europe, from Rome to southern Spain. Her last foreign trip was to Costa Rica at the age of 87, her third time there.

Eunice is survived by four of her five children: John 'Greg' McEachern (spouse Vicki) of Englewood, FL, Shana Whitlock of Baytown, TX, Brian McEachern of Wichita, KS, and Keri Rafkin (spouse Lee) of New Marlborough, MA. She also is survived by her brother Keith Kimball (spouse Angela) of Derby, KS.

Eunice leaves nine beloved grandchildren: Sara Sellens, Mike McEachern, Clay McEachern (spouse Lauren), Kathleen Sellens, Kelly Brennan (spouse Sean), Hannah McEachern, Carson McEachern, Chloe McEachern, and Colin McEachern. She also leaves five great-grandchildren: Ty, Colt, and Madi McEachern, and Riley and Connor Brennan.

Eunice was preceded in death by her son Richard McEachern (spouse Shannon) of Chase, KS, her brother Everett Kimball (spouse Josephine) of Medicine Lodge, KS, and by two loving and devoted husbands, John McEachern and Reginald Overman.

Eunice was a devout Christian. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
