Eunice A. Weber, 91, of Mars, PA, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospice of Wexford, following a brief hospital stay. As third oldest in her family, she was preceded in death by her son, David Scott Weber, and later, four brothers, Harold Tyree, Paul Tyree, William Tyree, and Dean Tyree and one sister, Glenna Lewis, as well as her former husband, Emmett Weber, an Air Force veteran and retired airline pilot. She is survived by a son, Robert Weber, sister Lorraine Korn and twin brothers, Larry and Garry Tyree. As well as a number of nieces and nephews scattered around the country. After finishing high school and briefly working as a secretary, Eunice, with her best friend from high school, joined the U.S. Air Force in the Women in the Air Force (WAF) division. While serving, she was one of a select group of WAF members chosen to represent the Air Force in the Rose Bowl Parade in Florida, an honor she carried with her into her honorary discharge. After buying her home in Mars nearly 40 years ago and overseeing major renovations, even learning to use a few tools herself, she polished her sewing skills and with her talent and imagination, turned her 'new' home into a decorator's dream. Sometimes even repurposing a department store find. She loved entertaining friends with simple meals which, if one was lucky enough, might end with her homemade apple pie, for which she was well known and often gave as a reciprocal token for a favor done toward her. Retiring after 18 years as receptionist at St. John's Lutheran Senior Life in Mars, she turned to her avid reading interest on historical figures. To sit with her and hear her compelling stories of past presidents, first ladies and such, was always fascinating. Of course, those times usually included a vodka and tonic, her preferred cocktail to the end. All the while the years went by, her greatest love and comfort came from her cats. They were her constant companions, never less than two, and for whatever reason, if only one was left, she was quick to give another a wonderful 'forever' home… Even turning a window into an 'escape hatch' for them to explore the outdoors. Being a devout Christian, in recent times she spoke often of her desire to go to 'Paradise'. Once in hospice with peaceful surroundings and compassionate care, God granted her wish and gently took her home. In honor of Eunice, the family plans a Celebration of Life later in the year for close family and friends. Details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, any contributions are encouraged in her memory to Conquer the Colony at Conquerthecolony.com, a cat rescue and replacement shelter founded by 3 residents of Mars. As well as Hope Haven Farm Sanctuary, 2506 Wexford Bayne Road, Sewickley, PA 15143, or Hopehavenfarm.org, where care and refuge is provided for animals in need.
