Eva Hudlow Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmon Windsor Funeral Home on Feb. 8, 2026.
Eva Hudlow, 83, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026 surrounded by her loving family, after battling Alzheimer's. Eva was born in Oslo, Norway on June 28, 1942. She was the daughter of Henny Olsen and Thor Wexelsen. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her brother, Peter, and her son, Richard III. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Jr., her daughters Lisa Wolfson (Jeff) and Dawn Ford (Kyle) and her grandson, Colby Tuttle as well as her best friend, Marie.

It was love at first sight for Eva and Richard, meeting in a Jazz club in Oslo. Richard was on weekend furlough while in the Army stationed in Germany, each saying to the other's companions that they were going to marry that person upon first sight. It was a love affair to be envied.

Eva was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and mentor. She was a pillar of strength to all who knew her. Her compassion knew no bounds. She loved gathering with friends and family and made deep and lasting connections wherever she went. She was known for seeing the beauty in everyone around her and freely offered compliments making everyone feel special.

Eva had a knack for decorating as demonstrated in her beautiful homes. She was a fashionista who loved to "shoplift" her way through Marshalls. She had a green thumb always surrounding her homes with lush flowers and ferns and was a kindred spirit to the many animals that often visited her backyard.

Eva's legacy will live on through the memories we shared, the values she instilled in us and the love she gave. We take solace in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 1-5pm at the Hyatt House, 200 Corporate Drive, in Windsor, CT. Family and Friends are invited to join us in remembering and honoring this remarkable woman.
