Evan Michael Johnson

Evan Michael Johnson passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, at the age of 17. He was the beloved son of Caren Mayeaux Johnson and Robert L. “Bobby” Johnson III. Loving brother of Tyler James Johnson (Madison Gondrella) and Emily Elizabeth Johnson (Connor Richoux). Cherished grandson of S.J. and Gail Mayeaux, Robert Johnson Jr. and JoAnn Dauenhauer, and Gwendolyn Durgin Davis and William Davis. He is also survived by his loving girlfriend, Kayden Carrere, along with many devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Evan was born and raised in Belle Chasse, LA. He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help School and was a proud rising senior at Jesuit High School in New Orleans. At Jesuit, he was a member of the National Honor Society, a Sodality member, and a player on the Varsity Golf Team.

Evan was actively involved in his OLPH Church community. He served as an altar server during his time at OLPH and was a dedicated volunteer at the Knights of Columbus Council 6357 Annual Lenten Fish Fries. He also volunteered at the OLPH Annual Fair and, more recently, at Riverbend Nursing Home.

Evan worked at B&B Tackle, where he loved helping customers and setting them up for fishing success. He also served occasionally as a deckhand for Calcutta Gold with Capt. Eric Newberry and Capt. Josh Edwards.

A true bayou boy, Evan was an avid sportsman, fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman. He loved being on the water and spending time at the fishing or hunting camp. He was also a Junior Member at English Turn Country Club.

Wise beyond his years, Evan was an old soul in a young man’s body. He had a rare gift for connecting with people of all ages, never met a stranger, and carried a meek and humble heart.

Evan’s contagious laugh and easygoing spirit will be deeply missed. He touched countless lives during his short time on this side of eternity.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8968 LA-23 in Belle Chasse, on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment will take place in the OLPH Church Cemetery.
