Evaristo "Buddy" Hernandez

Evaristo "Buddy" Hernandez, 85, of Berino, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Buddy was born on October 26, 1939, in Chamberino, New Mexico, to Antonio Hernandez and Teresa Murillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his devoted wife, Basilia Hernandez; his children, Ernie Hernandez and wife Annette, and Esther Hernandez and husband Michael Bustillos; one sister, Anita Torres; six cherished grandchildren; four adored great-grandchildren.
A lifelong resident of Berino, New Mexico, Buddy lived a life rooted in faith, family, and community. He was a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Mission in Berino, where he faithfully served and practiced his Catholic faith throughout his life.
Buddy retired from the City of Las Cruces, where he dedicated many years of service. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, sharing laughter and stories, and proudly cheering for his beloved Dallas Cowboys of whom he was the biggest fan.
Buddy's memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
