The sun set on the life of the most loving, caring and radiant Matriarch, Eveline M. Peterson Warchol, left this life into the angelic arms of her husband, son, grandson and sisters on Sunday April 7, 2024. She was born on January 7, 1929 at her parents' home during a snowstorm in Warren Pa.
Eveline (Evie) graduated from Warren High School in 1947 and moved to Erie to attend Hamot School of Nursing. Evie met her husband, Andrew Warchol Jr, while in training to be a Registered Nurse. She graduated Nursing school and married Andy in 1950. By 1955, their family grew to three children, before Andy passed in 1957.
After the passing of her husband, she went to work at Hamot Hospital in the Operating Room where she was able to support herself and her children. She was a strong, independent and loving person and her family meant everything to her. Upon her retirement from Hamot in 1991, she spent many enjoyable days in her backyard with her family and furry grandchildren.
She is survived by her oldest son, Andrew Warchol III, her daughter, Nancy (Chip) Becker and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Warchol. Evie was blessed with grandchildren who were very special to her; Shannon (Tony) Ferrare, Dr. Heather (Nick) Hurst, Kimberly (Matt) Rogerson, Thomas (Sara) Warchol, Brittany (David) Anderson and 2 step granddaughters, Nicole Challis and Tiffiny Norton. Her "sweeties" also included ten great grandchildren, Isabelle, Jack, Benjamin, Luca, Colin, Lino, Vayda, Thomas (Tripp), Dominic, Hannah, and DiAngelo. As well as two beloved sisters-in-laws, Deda and MaryJane Warchol
In addition to her parents and husband, Evie was predeceased by her youngest son Thomas Allen Warchol, grandson Andrew Michael Warchol, two brothers at birth James Peterson and David Peterson, and two sisters, Dorothea Marjory Lucas and Marlyn Ann English.
The family would like to extend extreme gratefulness to Heartland Hospice especially Mary, Lindsey and Amanda. We couldn't have done this without you.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to WQLN, Anna's Shelter or Shriners' Children's Hospital. A celebration of life and funeral service will be held at a later date.
Friends are invited to a service at 12 noon on Saturday, April 20th at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1603 West 32nd St, Erie, PA. Burial will be private in Laurel Hill. The Brugger Funeral Home & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St. is assisting with the arrangements.
