Evelyn Marie Flexhaug

Evelyn Marie Flexhaug, 80, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 11, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories. Evelyn began her life journey as the beloved daughter of Mary Moss and Chester Grantham.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Joe and Donnie Grantham; her husband, Harlen Flexhaug Jr.; and her precious granddaughter, Lillian Hayward.
Evelyn was a tiny but mighty lady with a heart as big as her spirit. If you knew her, you loved her. She had a knack for turning strangers into friends and making every moment with her unforgettable. Her resilience and unwavering devotion to her family were the cornerstones of her life.
She is survived by her adoring sister, Marilyn Potter, and Husband Bob; her loving children, Harlen Flexhaug III and Carrie Hayward; her adored grandchildren, Dylan Downing and wife Hannah, Alex Flexhaug, Joshua Hayward, and Collin Hayward; and her great-grandson, Mason, who brought her endless joy. Evelyn's extended family and many dear friends will continue to hold her memory close to their hearts.
Evelyn's love of life, sharp wit, and kind spirit will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Services to celebrate Evelyn's life will be held at St Stephen's Episcopal Church, 45 Lee Road 567, Smiths Station, AL 36877, with a service held at 11 a.m. EST on Monday, December 23, 2024, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to The Hospice House of Columbus in her memory.
Evelyn's light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her.
