Evelyn D. (Slasor) Lake, 82, of Byesville Ohio passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025, in Cambridge Ohio surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 12, 1943, in Antrim, Ohio, to the late Pearl A Slasor and Nola E Collins Slasor.
She was a homemaker most of her life and found the most joy in being with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed visits with family, friends and neighbors and never let anyone leave her home feeling hungry.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Lake, Byesville and Penny (Scott) Rusnak, Cambridge. Her grandchildren Stacy (Brandon Frazier) Fugett Huntington, WV, Misty Meadows, Barboursville, WV, Alex (Andrea) Rusnak, Freeport and Allison Rusnak, Cambridge. Her great-grandchildren Caitlynn Adkins, Leann (Olden) Hill, Hailey McAdams, Maddox Rusnak, Ellie Mizik and great-great grandsons Braxton Hill, Jamison Hill, Hudson Hill and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Lake Jr whom she married on May 8, 1960 and died on August 19, 1989. Also preceding her in death is her daughter Deborah D. Guerrero who died November 22, 2024 and her son Richard M. Lake III who died May 8, 2024. Preceding her in death also were her 12 older siblings.
Visitation will be held at Thorn- Black Funeral Home in Cambridge on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 6PM- 8PM, with funeral services being held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 11AM with burial to follow at Guernsey Memory Gardens.
