Brenda was born November 22, 1949 in Winchester, a daughter of the late Floyd Bagent and Anna Sine Bagent Nickleson. She attended John Handley High School. She married Lawrence Lucian "Butch" Lake on September 17, 1966 in Winchester. Brenda worked as the Kitchen Manager for Winchester Senior Center for many years and later was the owner/operator of Triple L DJ and Karaoke Company until her retirement. She was a life time member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and served as President of VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her three sons, Anthony William Lake (Lena) of Winchester, Toby Adam Lake (Sandi) of Winchester, and Terry Mitchell Lake of North Myrtle Beach, SC; eight grandchildren, "Bella" M. Weatherholt, Toni Leann Lake, Amber D. Lockhart, Christina A. Whitacre, Julia P. Wilkins, Thomas R. "Bobby" Painter, Tobi M. Lake, Brendan M. Lake; 15 great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Jean Redfern, of Charles Town, WV.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Butch, a sister, Penny Ann Cather, and 2 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Kyle Sheeley officiating. Burial will be private at Riverview Cemetery, Strasburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Blue Ridge Hospice.
