Evelyn Lang Obituary
Deerfield - Evelyn (Clough) Lang, 81, of Deerfield, New Hampshire, passed away at home on February 20, 2021. She was born in Gonic, NH on November 26, 1939, the daughter of Hazel Holland Southmayd and Gilbert Clough. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gerald Forrest Lang, daughter Robin Ann White, and son-in-law Marshall Bourne Hatch III, of Deerfield, NH, and sister, Rebecca McClelland, numerous nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Forrest Lang.
Evelyn was a 9th Generation Quaker, and for a time was the clerk of The Gonic Friends Meeting House. She was a haiku poet, avid perennial gardener, self-proclaimed bookworm, and member of the Haiku Society of America. One of her favorite passions was walking along Jenness Beach in Rye, NH, collecting mermaid's tears. Among her favorite authors were Thomas Merton, Gary Snyder & Annie Dillard.
