Evelyn Cooper "Lynne" Parrish

Evelyn 'Lynne" Cooper Parrish, 81, of Hendersonville, NC, departed this life on January 4, 2026. She peacefully left this world in Asheville, NC, surrounded by family.

Lynne was born on September 9, 1944 in Flushing, NY as the cherished daughter of the late John H. Cornell and Evelyn C. Cornell. She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory. She is survived by her daughter, Alison Griffin and her husband Marvin of Harvest, AL and her treasured grandchildren, Ben of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany and Will also of Harvest, AL. Lynne is also survived by her brother, John H. Cornell Jr. of Laguna Hills, CA and nephews with their families, and several friends who will all hold her memory close to their hearts.

Lynne moved to NC in the mid-1970s and worked as a cosmetologist. She found joy in the beautiful mountains of WNC, loved attending church, teaching Sunday School, gardening, caring for her numerous pets, picking apples, riding around on the Blue Ridge Parkway, visiting Pisgah National Park, and most importantly, spending precious time with her daughter and grandchildren. She loved taking trips to the beach and it reminded her of her earlier days living on Long Island. Her presence was a source of warmth and love for all who knew her.

A service will be held in late spring at St. James Episcopal Church in Hendersonville, NC where family and friends will gather to honor and remember her remarkable life.

Lynne will be dearly missed but forever remembered by those who had the privilege to know and love her. May she rest in eternal peace. Remembrances can be made through contributions to the Blue Ridge Humane Society.
