Evelyn “Pidge” Collier peacefully passed away on November 25, 2024 at her beloved home, “The Farm” having had the pleasure of being comforted in her final days by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and dear friends. Pidge is survived by her children “Bill” Collier (Shelley), Jane Joray (Gregg), Stephen Collier (Natalie), and David Collier (Jacqueline); her grandchildren Geoffrey, Erik, Kristen, Jaclyn, Brian, Tyler, Jessica, and Julia; and her great grandchildren Miles, Erika, Magdalena, Keira, Tanner, William, Esther, Carter, Kainan, Avery, Layla, and Sidney. Pidge was predeceased by her husband of 64 years “Bill” and son “Bob”. Pidge was 92 at her death having been born on July 16, 1932.
Pidge was an active member of the community and particularly enjoyed her many hours spent with the Shawangunk Garden Club and Ellenville Hospital Auxiliary. Pidge was an avid gardener and reader, but her greatest joy came from being a loving, caring, and nurturing mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Pidge’s life was filled with love and joy, both giving and receiving. She will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3 from 5-8 PM at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 Main Street, Ellenville NY. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary & Saint Andrew on Wednesday, December 4 at 10 AM, with internment to follow at Fantinekill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pidge’s memory to Saint Mary & Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Shadowland Theatre, or Shawangunk Garden Club, to benefit FGCNYS: World Gardening.
