Evelyn Purcell

Evelyn J. Purcell, age 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Jan 31, 1930 in Sagola, Michigan, to the late Ester (Rein) and Lester Leeman. She moved to Chicago, Il where she worked at Brachs Candy and met the love of her life Paul J Purcell. After they married they moved to Lockport, IL. where she raised a family of 6 children. Her family was the center of her world, and the source of her greatest joy. She loved each and every grandchild, great grandchild and even the great-great grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by her beloved children Mike Purcell, Dave (Denise) Purcell, Steven (Jennie) Purcell, Margie (Rocky) Hill, Jim (Michele) Purcell and Charlie (Geri) Purcell; 18 cherished grandchildren; 33 treasured great-grandchildren; 6 great-greatgrandchildren with 2 more expected to arrive soon; her dear siblings Donna J. (the late Bill) Dove and Gla (the late Sally) Leeman and numerous nieces, nephews and other dear friends and family members. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul J. Purcell Jr.; her loving parents Lester and Esther (nee Rein) Leeman; and siblings Bernice Lillian (Ted) Dahlgren, Marian (John) Bubaloni, Robert (Mary) Leeman and Sonny (Donna) Leeman. Visitation will be held Friday, November 21, 2025 from 10am-12pm at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S Hamilton St, Lockport IL 60441. Funeral service and Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet IL.
