Evelyn L. Root

EVELYN L. ROOT Evelyn L. Root, 68, of Conklin, NY was called home to be with the Lord on August 11, 2025 peacefully at home. She is survived by her mother, Beverly Root; her sisters, Diana Taylor, Rosemary (Carl) Pease, and Ruedonna Carnevale; her two brothers, Richard and Ross (Suzette) Root; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Ronald Root in 2014; a niece, Kerrie Taylor; several aunts and uncles; and two cousins, Phyllis and Susie. Prior to her retirement in 2023, she was employed with Johnson Outdoors and formerly taught in several schools including Central Baptist Christian Academy and Cincinnatus Christian Academy. She had a gift for teaching and was loved by her students and their families. Evelyn was a member of South New Milford Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, playing board and card games, reading, and movies. Evelyn was content with her life, family, students, and work. A memorial service will be announced when it is scheduled.
