Jean was born December 19, 1931 to Roscoe and Bessie Payne near Akin, IL.
She was a long life resident of Franklin County and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Christopher, IL.
Jean is survived by 2 daughters, Shelley Smith and Sherry Summary both of Benton, 2 sons Rob Smith of Benton and Kerry Smith of Burien, WA, four grandchildren Jennifer Summary of Cape Coral, FL, Justin Summary of St. Louis, MO, Brendan Summary of O'Fallon, MO and Bryce Summary of St. Charles, MO. She had 7 great-grandchildren, Hudson, Harper, Hazel, Layla, Olivia, Connor and Isaac. She is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 2004, her parents, and 4 siblings: Percy Payne, Lucille Smith, James Payne and Ernie Payne.
To honor Mrs. Smith's wishes, she was cremated and private family services were held at her gravesite.
