Evelyn Vega-Belton, 43 of Louisville passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025, at her home.
Evelyn was a Christian by faith having attended services at Evangel World Prayer Center. She was an agent for State Farm Insurance. A native of Panama City, Panama Evelyn was an advocate for the Hispanic community. She was proud of her heritage and worked hard to create a legacy for her family. Evelyn was well known and respected for her commitment to the community. She was active in community outreach programs and served on several boards for non-profits. Evelyn was full of energy, excitement and hope for the future; she had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She looked for the positive in any situation, a lesson learned, she was forgiving, understanding and generous. Family was paramount, the pride and love she had for her sons was unmatched. The principles she set herself were based upon being the best role model she could be for her boys. She wanted a fulfilling future for her boys, she instilled strong morals, and work ethic, she strived to create generational wealth and security. She worked hard to create a loving home, she believed food was a gift of love, she enjoyed cooking and baking, hosting family events, and decorating for the holidays. Christmas was her favorite holiday, she had a yearly countdown, passing the days with hot cocoa, twinkling lights, watching movies and time spent making lasting memories. Evelyn was truly one of a kind, a beautiful soul that will be dearly missed by many.
She is preceded in death by her father Humberto Vega.
Evelyn is survived by her sons Jabez Vega and Josiah Belton, along with her canine baby Maximus. Her mother Libertaria Vega-Blanco; Laura Harvey and family, Minerva Vega-Hollingsworth and family, Marcos Vega and family, Ricardo Vega and family, Luis Vega and family, Javier Vega and family. Family from Panama City, Panama, along with her State Farm family, church family and numerous friends.
Funeral Service to take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Evangel World Prayer Center 6900 Billtown Rd. in Louisville, with Dr. Bob Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow in Crosswater Garden Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025, 1-8 pm at Maraman Billings Funeral Home 605 S. Preston Hwy. in Shepherdsville and Friday, January 24, 2025, from 10 am until time of service at Evangel World Prayer Center.
