Evelyn died at the age of 100 in Boca Raton, Florida. She was married to Albert Weitzman for 53 years. She is survived by her children: Ronald Weitzman (Arlene), Linda Cohen, and Stuart Weitzman (Lynne); her grandchildren: Amy Sullivan (Eric), Todd Weitzman (Carrie), Allison Weitzman, Jill Weitzman, Richard Cohen (Elizabeth); her great-grandchildren: Olivia Sullivan, Brett Sullivan, Sarah Weitzman, Jack Weitzman, Cameron Rosenberg, Maci Rosenberg, and Alexander Cohen; and her sister, Geraldine Horwich. The entire family called Evelyn "Bubby" after her first grandchild arrived. She hosted the entire family for home cooked Shabbat dinners every Friday night for over 20 years during the months she lived in Baltimore. She spent winters in Florida for 38 years before becoming a full
time Florida resident at the age of 88. Many will know her for her active participation in Temple Oheb Shalom, Triad Guild, and Israel Bonds, but will remember her charitable support and her kind, helpful, respectful nature. The family will be receiving friends at Har Sinai-Oheb Shalom, 7310 Park Heights Avenue, in the Weitzman-Cohen room immediately following the interment. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
Services at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208 on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM. Interment at Oheb Shalom Memorial Park- Berrymans Lane.
