Seminole, OK resident Everett “Junior” Evans, Jr. passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026 in Shawnee at the age of 88. Junior was born on July 8, 1937 in Seminole to Everett Emery and Ruby Butler Evans. He was a 1956 Varnum High School graduate. He also attended East Central University. He worked as a soil conservationist at The Department of Agriculture for over 40 years. After retiring, he joined Beacon as a consultant for an additional 21 years. Junior married the love of his life Carolyn Sue Harris on December 27, 1958 in Seminole.

A faithful servant of the Lord, a devoted husband and father, and a man whose life quietly reflected God’s goodness, Junior entered into the presence of his Savior on March 9, 2026.

Junior loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served Him daily. His faith was not merely spoken, but lived—seen in his integrity, humility, and steadfast commitment to honoring God in all things. He was a devoted member of Twin Oak Baptist Church, where he worshiped faithfully and sought to serve the Lord through a life of obedience and quiet strength.

For 67 blessed years, he shared a loving and faithful marriage with his wife, Carolyn. Together they built a home grounded in Christian values, devotion, and love. He was a proud and loving father to his two daughters, Tammy & Kari (Karen), whom he cherished deeply and supported with unwavering care.

A man who believed in the dignity of honest work, Junior worked at a job he truly loved until the day the Lord called him home. He was gifted with remarkable skill in woodworking and mechanical work, and he found great joy in working the land and tending his garden—using his hands to create, repair, and nurture.

His life leaves a lasting testimony of faith, love, and service. Though he will be deeply missed, his family and friends rejoice in the assurance that he has heard the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

Junior is survived by his wife of 67 years Carolyn Sue Evans; two daughters, Tammy Evans Hall and Kari (Karen) Evans and many other family and friends.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Keith Evans and siblings, Raymond Evans, Glenn Evans, Helen Adams, Lucille Gist, Grace Hargis, Betty Jo Best, and Margaret Schroeder.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Stephen Quinalty, Rodney Troglin, Greg Cook, Joey Collins, Josh Shirley, and Nathan Shirley.

Viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.

Funeral services will be held March 16th, 11:00 a.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Bro. Tim Emmons will be officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery.
