Everett Dale Smith, age 87, entered into eternal rest on August 16, 2025. He was born on May 13, 1938, in Otselic, New York, to the late Donald Smith and the late Mildred Mowers Smith.

Everett dedicated 31 years of service as a lineman with LPNL before retiring. He also faithfully served his country in the United States Army. A devoted member of Canaan Baptist Church in Franklinton, Louisiana, Everett lived a life centered on faith, family, and friendship. He especially enjoyed the simple pleasures-like riding his tractor, whether working the land or simply enjoying the ride.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first loving wife of 36 years, Olga Smith; his son, Robert Smith; and eight brothers and sisters.

Everett is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Sherrie Vandenberg Smith; his daughter, Donna Adams (Peter); stepchildren, Melissa Bell (Jimmy), William Walker (Stacey), and Jessica Pellegrin (Bob); his grandchildren, Alaster, Catherine, Olivia, Rebecca, and Christopher; and his brother, Calvin Smith (Vicki). He will also be deeply missed by numerous extended family members and dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, Louisiana. Guests are asked to gather at the front of Garden of Memories Funeral Home at 9:45 a.m. A memorial service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Canaan Baptist Church, 18486 Sanders Road, Franklinton, LA.
