Marlow: Evertt Cecil Heddlesten, 92, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in Marlow, Oklahoma at his home.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, September 29, 2023, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, with David Galletly officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow, Oklahoma.
Evertt was born Monday, August 24, 1931 in Washita, OK to James and Lorena (Hollis) Heddlesten. He attended school in Washita and lived most of his life in the area. Evertt worked as a diesel mechanic for Southwest Motor Freight in Oklahoma City. He married Helen Johnson on June 15, 1986 at the Rush Springs Park, and they moved to Marlow where they would spend the next thirty-seven years together. Evertt enjoyed fishing, woodworking, tractors, and working word puzzles. He also loved spending time with family and telling stories. Evertt was a member of the Church of God in Anadarko.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Heddlesten of the home; two sons, Rickey Nunn and wife, Helen, of Marlow and Roger Nunn and wife, Natalie, of Marlow; daughter, Bonnie Cunningham and husband, Don, of Marlow; 8 grandchildren, Wayne, Boyd, Caleb, Mindy, Rachel, Dominique, Micah, and Hunter; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Hazel; two sisters, Lorena Heddlesten of Chickasha, and Betty Davis of Shawnee, OK; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Chester Heddlesten, sister, Gladys Heddlesten, and three brothers, J. B. Heddlesten, Bob Heddlesten, and Paul Heddlesten.
Pallbearers will be: Rickey Nunn, Roger Nunn, Boyd Nunn, Caleb Cunningham, Charles Hulett, and John Hulett.
Honorary pallbearers include Pat Jones, Don Cunningham, Danny Balch, Ronnie Bridges, and Ethan Randall.
