Gary D. Heddlesten was born January 17, 1951 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Orville Paul and Louise Marie (Barron) Heddlesten. He passed from this life on Saturday, February 11, 2023 in Oklahoma City at the age of 72. gary grew up around the Stecker, Fletcher and Broxton area. He attended Broxton Schools and graduated with the class of 1972. He then attended Barber College and after graduation he began a very long career as a barber. His career lasted over 35 years and was mostly in Anadarko.
Gary married Sandra Vance on May 20, 1978 and they lived in Anadarko until 1994 where they then made their home in Fort Cobb. Gary retired in 2003 from cutting hair due to the onset of diabetes and Parkinsons. He truly missed his customers and visiting with so many.
Gary enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brother, Bobby and brother-in-law, Ron.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jon Heddlesten, sister, Paulette Heddlesten and brother, Charlie Heddlesten.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sandra of the home; daughters: Kim Heddlesten of Fort Cobb and Kelli Heddlesten of Chickasha; sons: Dewayne McGhghy of Gracemont, David McGhghy of Elgin and Quinton Heddlesten of Missouri; grandchildren: Kaitlyn Hughes of Fort Cobb, Kassidy Hughes of Weatherford, Kameron Hughes of Fort Cobb, Jacob Heddlesten of the home, Connor and DJ Kessler of Chickasha and Gabbi Burleson of Carnegie; great grandchildren: Kennedy, Kyla and Kyrah Peek of Fort Cobb; siblings: Robert and Linda Heddlesten of Broxton, Paula and Everett Carroll of Del City, Tommy Barron of Fort Cobb, Jessie Heddlesten of Walters, Midge Heddlesten of Arkansas, Staci Heddlesten of Lawton, Sandra Higgins Creekmore of Minco, Jodi Jindra of Cashion, Vicki Descher of Crescent and Eddie Vorel of Texas along with numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 9:00 A.M. - 2:30 P.M.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at the Fort Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David McGhghy will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Services are under the direction of Fort Cobb Funeral Home.
