Evva Burlingame Obituary

Evva M. Burlingame, 95, of Mount Vernon, Ohio died on Friday, November 7, 2025 at the home of her daughter. She was born on June 7, 1930 in Saugerties, New York, the daughter of the late Norman Edward and Evva (Magee) Whitaker.
Evva was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Poughkeepsie, New York, a member of Chapter #4561 Moose Lodge, Hyde Park, New York, an associate member of Faith Lutheran Church of Mount Vernon, Ohio. She belonged to the Jesus Calling, Mary Martha and quilters groups all at Faith Lutheran. Evva was also a member of the Knox County Agricultural Museum, the Lady Bug Red Hat group and Station Break Senior Citizens Center all of Mount Vernon, Ohio.
On January 21, 1970 at the Community United Methodist Church in Poughkeepsie, New York, she married Edwin R. Burlingame.
Evva is survived by her daughter, Evva Donofrio of Mount Vernon, Ohio; a stepson, Edwin C. Burlingame and his wife, Christene of Vancouver, Washington; a sister-in-law, Arlene Burlingame of Mantana, Florida; and Georgia Burlingame of Hyde Park, New York; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Evva was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Joe and John; six brothers, Charles, Orville, Edmund, Hugh, Norman and Albert Whitaker; sisters-in-law, Lorraine, Lori, Joan, Janice, Patrecia, and Arlene Whitaker.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. in Mound View Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Ohio with Rev. Cody Blust officiating.
