Ezola Ann Malbreaux

Ezola Ann Malbreaux, was born on July 22, 1976, in Lafayette, Louisiana, passed away peacefully, on July 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and determination. A proud graduate of Acadiana High School, Ezola was known not only for her larger than life personality but for her exceptional talent on the basketball court. As a standout player, she excelled in the sport and was a valued member of the select AAU team, where her skills and passion for the game shone brightly.

Ezola's greatest joy in life was her daughter, Makenzie Malbreaux. Their bond was unbreakable, and she cherished every moment spent nurturing and guiding her. Ezola's love for Makenzie was evident in everything she did, and she will be deeply missed by Makenzie.

Ezola will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her unwavering support for her loved ones, and her remarkable ability to inspire those around her. Ezola was a Physical Education teacher for 13 years. She taught students between elementary and middle school age.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Marie Malbreaux and her father, Wallace John Augustine, her grandparents on her mother's side; Walter & Ezola Malbrough, her aunts; Joyce Polite, Maryann Chevalier, & Rochella Malbrough, her uncle & Godfather, Peter Malbreaux.

A celebration of her life will be held to honor her memory on Thursday, July 24th at 1:00 pm. In this time of sorrow, we remember Ezola Malbreaux as a beloved mother, a talented athlete & coach, and a cherished friend. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
