Fahmi Daoud, a longtime resident of New Rochelle passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024 at the age of 90.
Fahmi was born in Palestine on December 23, 1933 where he lived until he moved to Brazil and met and married the love of his life Marilia Daoud (Teixeira) on February 20, 1965. There he was a business owner until he relocated his family to the United States in 1977 to begin a new life and began working as a seamstress for Imp Originals in New Rochelle until he retired at the age of 70.
Fahmi was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. His grandchildren were his everything, calling them "habibi" in Arabic translating to "My Love". He enjoyed daily walks at Glen Island Park and was an upstanding member of the Portuguese American Club in New Rochelle for many years. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
He is survived by his son's Hiram and wife Josephine, Alex and wife Diana, five grandchildren, Jessica, Austin, Jordana, Sofia and Alex Jr as well as his siblings Fahimeh, Muftiya, Fuzia, Mohammed and many loving nieces and nephews near and far.
He is preceded in death by his wife Marilia Daoud, his parents and siblings Zaynab, Rasmiya, Habeeb and Ali.
Visiting Hours will be scheduled for Monday, April 29, 2024 from 4-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle. A mass is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 10:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church 15 Shea Place, New Rochelle. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery in New Rochelle.
