Robert D. Maltese

Robert D. Maltese, known affectionately by all who loved him as "Bobby," passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at approximately 3:45 AM, at the age of 76. A devoted, loving, and proud family man-and a loyal friend to so many-Bobby lived a life defined by quiet strength, generosity of spirit, and deep devotion to the people he loved.

Born on September 11, 1948, in New Rochelle, New York, Bobby grew up surrounded by the strong, close-knit bonds of family. His parents, Rose and Roberto Maltese, his brothers Thomas and Nick, and his sister Eva, along with countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, helped shape the man he became. Bobby was the product of a loving home, a strong upbringing, and values rooted in compassion and humility.

He spent his life leading with kindness and integrity-never seeking attention, but always making a difference in quiet, meaningful ways. Bobby had a gift for making people feel at ease. Whether it was his warm smile, a helping hand, or one of his signature jokes, he brought joy and comfort wherever he went. He believed in showing up-for his loved ones, for his neighbors, and for anyone who needed him.

He was a man of deep loyalty and humble pride, cherishing the simple moments: family dinners, Sunday drives, a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, or time spent in the backyard with those he held close. His presence was a comfort, his love unwavering, and his legacy enduring.

Bobby is survived by his life partner, Joseph R. Stabile; his brothers, Thomas and Nick Maltese, and their families. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A wake will be held Friday 3-7pm at Lloyd maxcy & Sons, and a funeral mass will be held Saturday morning 9:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church with a burial to follow at Beechwoods Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in Bobby's honor.
