Dcn. Fallon earned his associate degree in automotive repair from Delgado Community College. Following several years of work in his father’s auto repair shop, he discovered his true calling and was ordained a deacon with the Archdiocese of New Orleans in 2001. Dcn. Fallon devoted himself to ministering to parishioners in New Orleans, Jacksonville, and Baton Rouge, feeling especially drawn to serving incarcerated and homeless populations.
Beyond his ministry, Dcn. Fallon found joy in spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, who have been blessed with a lifetime of love from their Pa. He also indulged in activities such as golfing, fishing, and enthusiastically supporting the LSU baseball team and the New Orleans Saints. With his gentle nature, unwavering faith in God, and profound respect for others, Dcn. Fallon left an enduring impression on all who knew him.
He was deeply religious, and his affection for his family and friends was boundless. Dcn. Fallon is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Maybelle Fischer Lorenz; their son, Mark Lorenz, and his wife, Keri; their daughter, Nicole Hemmerling, and her husband, Scott; and their cherished grandchildren, Phoebe Hemmerling, Evan Lorenz, Ava Lorenz, and Noah Lorenz. He is also survived by his sisters, Lynn Simmons and Faith Sproles. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jewel Schayot.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nursing staff at St. Clare Manor Nursing Home and Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge for their devoted and compassionate care of Dcn. Fallon and his family.
