Fawzy El Sayed Salama

Fawzy El Sayed Salama, 93, born February 9, 1931, in Cairo, Egypt, to the late Sayed and Ami Salama, passed on March 6, 2024. Fawzy graduated from Cairo University Medical School with honors and worked under the Chief Surgeon. When he came to American, he did his internship at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago before working his residency through the University of Kentucky Medical Program. His practice began at the Welborn Clinic in Evansville, Indiana, as a Urologist, where he retired in 1987. Fawzy enjoyed reading, classical music, and yardwork, but, above all, he loved to travel with his wife of 55 years, Sandra. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Sandra, his sisters-in-law Karen (Kirby) Allen and Gail Atwell, and many beloved nieces and nephews, including Dr. Mustafa Kaason. Along with his parents, Fawzy is preceded in death by his brothers-in-law Jack (Geraldine) Atwell and Michael Atwell. Fawzy will be buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 10am.
