Obituary For Fay Min Gee

Fay Min Gee was born on August 22nd, 1933 in Canton, China. He was the youngest in his family, with an older half-brother, 4 older sisters, and 2 older half sisters.

He immigrated to the United States via Ellis Island at age 14 and first lived in Chinatown in New York, NY for 2 years and then lived with his older sister Sau Hang Yee, in Framingham, MA.

Even not knowing the language well, he quickly assimilated and was heavily involved in high school activities. He served on the Student Council, the Philomath Staff, Science Fair, Graduation Decoration Committee, and served as a marshal.

He went to attend Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.

Fay began his career at Monsanto before joining Mallory, known today as Duracell International. He worked there for 35 years until his early retirement at 62 years old. On December 8th, 1965, he married Nancy Miao, and together they raised three sons: Bobby, David, and Paul.

Fay accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior in 1985. After 55 years living in the East Coast, he and Nancy sold their home in Burlington, MA and moved to Fremont, CA, in June 2002. He was later baptized in 20063 at the Chinese Independent Baptist Church in Fremont, California.

Fay was a loving father and grandfather. He cherished his family deeply and delighted in his grandchildren: Peyton, Ellery, Amelia, Bella, Ollie, and Poppy. He also loved traveling, cooking, and gardening.

Fay went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026. His life was an inspiration of discipline and hard work. His love and service are a testament of faith. He will be dearly missed.
