Fay Lawrence Obituary
Sandra “Fay” Mauney Lawrence; age 62, of Ostrich Lane passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025. She was born February 25, 1963, in Mecklenburg County to the late John Melton and Peggy Sue Smith Mauney.
Faye was known for “having a heart of gold”, always giving more than she received. Faye’s caring soul would not allow her to hold onto anger toward anyone. She could always see the best in everyone around her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James David “Stretch” Lawrence.
Survivors include her sons, Scott Mauney and David Mauney (Chasity); grandchildren, Shawn, Christian, Randy, Ryder, and Kira Mauney; great-grandchildren, Baylum, Brinley, and Beckum; brother, Bill Mauney (Elizabeth); sisters, Becky Howe, and Francis Morgan; special aunt, Ruby Buchanan; several nieces and nephews; and her American Bulldog, Reese.
Her family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 AM Monday, September 8, 2025, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM.
Burial will be private.
