Fay Carolyn Morith

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Fay Carolyn Pogel/ Morith, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and pillar of the Wolcottsville community. Fay was born on June 6, 1937, in Lockport, NY, and she peacefully departed this life on January 4, 2026.

Fay spent her life embracing the role of a devoted homemaker, nurturing her family with unwavering love and dedication. She is survived by her son: Robert (Cheryl) Pogel Jr., her daughter: Elizabeth (Late husband Ray) Brucker, and her treasured grandchildren, Frank (Mikala) Brucker, Amanda (Marc) Hockenberry, and Robert (Jennifer) Pogel III.; she also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Emily(Amanda,Marc), Evelynn (Robert,Jennifer), and Scarlett Rae (Frank Mikala). Fay was preceded in death by her first husband: Robert Pogel Sr., and second husband: Robert Morith, son : Brian Pogel, mother, Arlene Sims, brother: Duane Carey.

A vibrant spirit, Fay was known for her impeccable sense of style; she was always dressed to the nines, bringing joy and elegance to every occasion. Her commitment to community service was reflected in her active involvement with the Wolcottsville Auxiliary and later as an honorary member of the Fire Department. Fay was also a proud member of the Akron VFW. She contributed her time and energy to various events, including organizing square dances and volunteering at local schools. Her joyous laughter was often heard during senior bowling nights and while tending bar at the VFW, where she cherished the camaraderie of friends and neighbors.

Fay's passion for crafting shone brightly in her love for knitting, crocheting, and beading, each creation a testament to her creativity and care. However, it was the time spent with her family that she treasured most, making every moment a cherished memory.

Family and friends are invited to call on January 15, 2026,at Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed her a funeral service, where friends and family can come together to honor her legacy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fay's memory to the Wolcottsville Fire Department- 6337 Wolcottsville Rd, Akron, NY 14001.

In this time of sorrow, let us remember Fay for her warmth, generosity, and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
