Nancy L. Welker, 79, of Batavia, NY, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with COPD on January 23rd, 2026. Nancy was born in Batavia, N.Y. in 1946, to Gerald and Lucille Ellis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald C. Welker; sisters, Carol (Paul) Sherwood and Denise Ellis.

Nancy was a proud mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne (Randy) Peck of Batavia; son, Pete (Sarah) Welker of Batavia; Grandchildren Bailee Welker of Washington, DC, Taylor Peck of Batavia, and Jordan Welker of Batavia; Brothers Gary Ellis of Batavia, Rickey (Melissa) Ellis of Webster, and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was a 1964 graduate of Batavia High School. Nancy first worked at Twin Fair Department Store and then was employed at Genesee Memorial Hospital for 30 years, where she worked in several capacities, until ultimately retiring as the Medical Staff Coordinator and assisted in the merger of the two hospitals in Batavia.

Nancy was a devoted catholic, a great mother, and even better grandmother. Nancy enjoyed watching her grandchildren's sporting events, reading, crocheting, and spending time with family.

There will be no calling hours, and services will be held at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Rochester Regional Hospital in Batavia and the Hospice Care staff.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Nancy's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929
