Fay Alene (Woodside) Umbaugh, 84, McGrann, passed away at home after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on November 19, 1939 to Glenn and Mary Ethel (Huston) Woodside in Brick Church, PA. Fay was the sixth of eight children and loved growing up on the family farm. She attended Brick Church School and Ford City High School.
Fay married Raymond "Fred" Umbaugh on March 21, 1969. They celebrated 55 years of marriage together. He taught her how to hunt which they did together since 1960.
Fay was involved with the youth at the Church of Christ teaching Sunday School, VBS, Bible Bowl teams and missionary work. She and Ray were instrumental in the construction of the church building.
She was an avid gardener. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing games, hunting, camping, and fishing. She was an avid lover of the Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers.
Fay was a talented seamstress and could make any dress or costume requested. She was a 4H leader where shared her love of sewing, cooking, and crafting.
Surviving is her husband of 55 years, Raymond "Fred" Umbaugh; two daugthers, Malinda (Brian) Sholler and Janice Umbaugh; granddaughter, Jennifer Bracken; step-grandson, Noah Sholler; sister, Helen Kaufman; and many nieces, nephews, and grand "pets".
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ralph, Howard, John, James, and Glenn, Jr.; sisters, Ina and Mary Alice; mother and father-in-law, Delbert and Dorothy Umbaugh.
Friends will be received on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 1p.m. from the funeral home.
Private burial will take place in Salem (Hills) Church Cemetery.
Fay always started her day with a smile and hoped others did as well.
